About The Position

Apache Casino Hotel property is comprised of a 132-room upscale hotel with a gift shop, meeting and banquet rooms, casino with table games and over 800 slot machines, 360 Restaurant, a family-style or upscale restaurant with table service, a coffee bar, loft bar, Apache Grill, a 50,000 square-foot event center, a convenience store, and administrative offices, owned by the Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma. The Environmental Services Manager supervises staff and oversees EVS areas of the property, maintaining outstanding cleanliness in all property areas to always ensure an exceptional level of guest service and satisfaction

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree with a minimum of five years’ experience managing casino housekeeping operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulatory reporting and compliance requirements, with working knowledge and understanding of utility equipment, functions, and cleaning chemicals
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with excellent interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills including team building, mentoring and problem-solving, with the ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
  • Knowledge of business planning, budgeting, scheduling, and motivating staff
  • Ability to obtain and retain a gaming license

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Mentor FSA Tribal Members within your department
  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of always providing exceptional service
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Environmental Services operations including identifying staffing needs, interviewing, and hiring quality team members, training and supervision, counseling team members in a constructive manner
  • Provide a positive, empowering work environment through example setting and consistency of day-to-day work habits, ensuring consistent, high quality maintenance standards for all EVS areas
  • Prepare work schedules for EVS casino and heavy-duty team, assigning duties orally and in writing, monitoring hours worked and adjusting schedules as necessary to avoid overtime, ensuring cleanliness and safety across all EVS areas of the property to always provide an exceptional guest experience
  • Work with chemicals and cleaning machines such as buffer, stripper, commercial extractor, etc., having knowledge of basic operation and maintenance of equipment and sanitation systems, MSDS, and OSHA regulations
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget; manage and monitor fiscal budget, order essential supplies and equipment, and maintain an accurate inventory
  • Maintain an open-door policy, making time for each team member who finds the need for direction, coaching and training, developing them to meet standardized performance expectations, creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, harmony, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and team member satisfaction
  • Monitor and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies, procedures and performance standards, ensuring team members understand and are accountable for their areas of responsibility, identifying poor performers and taking action to correct deficiencies
  • Make and implement plans, controlling and coordinating policy and procedures in keeping with Apache Casino Hotel objectives
  • Be knowledgeable and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, laws, and internal policies and procedures
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of team members
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Assistant General Manager
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Assume a role of authority as necessary; delegate responsibility and empower team member to make decisions
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with all Apache Casino Hotel policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards may apply departmentally based on uniform requirements). Where uniforms are required, they must be clean and pressed at the beginning of each shift
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program
  • Competency to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitoring processes and routine work details
  • Ability to clearly present information verbally and in writing; read and interpret complex information; actively listen and talk with guests and team members
  • Demonstrate a high level of service delivery to ensure guest and team member satisfaction; handle service failures and prioritize guest and team member needs
  • Prepare for known problems and opportunities in advance; willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise
  • Capable of using tact, maintaining confidences, fostering an ethical work environment, and handling situations honestly
  • Ability to adapt behavior to others’ styles, interact with people who have different values, culture, or backgrounds, be of service to difficult people, optimize the benefits of having a diverse workforce
  • Share due credit with team members; display team spirit, enthusiasm and promote a friendly group working environment; work closely with other departments as necessary; support group decisions and solicit opinions from fellow team members
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment used in your department, for example cleaning machines, personal computers, printers, copy machines, facsimile machines, and telephone
