About The Position

EVS Manager : The EVS Manager manages all aspects of the EVS department to achieve property standards of cleanliness and appearance of the casino. The EVS Manager will ensure an excellent customer experience for guests and an excellent working environment for employees by setting goals, objectives and action plans to ensure successful operations. The EVS Manager will also operate business in a financially prudent manner to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to continuously perform repetitive hand, arm, and shoulder motion.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years supervisory experience required
  • Five years’ experience in EVS or Housekeeping at a comparable facility (e.g. Hotel , Casino) required
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and hours to include holidays and weekends.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building and problem solving skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of proper chemical usage.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer applications skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA from an accredited educational institution preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and implement cleaning plans for the casino’s front of house operations and, garage, and other back of the house areas.
  • Prepares annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Act as a role model and coach while developing team members using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.
  • Reviews and track monthly financial statements, prepares variance reports
  • Manages and directs the day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility through assigned department leads and coaches.
  • Creates and executes plans and strategies to achieve service goals.
  • Provides labor analysis and ensures efficient utilization based upon business needs
  • Coordinates activities of assigned areas to support goals and objectives of other departments in the casino.
  • Clearly communicates and enforces company expectations including policies, procedures, department goals and business strategy.
  • Ensures compliance with all OSHA safety standard codes
  • Oversees purchasing and inventory procedures for EVS Department.
  • Recognizes and rewards individuals and groups when consistent superior performance is attained.
  • Responds to and handle team member complaints (grievances) in a timely and efficient manner
  • Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and team member conflicts
  • Conduct meetings with Department leadership to discuss job functions, teamwork, staff development, concerns and questions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure total guest satisfaction and efficient operations in a safe, friendly, comfortable environment, by well-trained, motivated team members.
  • Train team members, providing each with the knowledge, development and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities
  • Responsible for, or actively participates in, the initiation of personnel actions including but not limited to: interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner.
  • Maintain a positive relationship and manage the pest control program.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all interior and exterior windows and paver systems.
  • Maintain daily use of the CMMS program for planned maintenance work orders and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Create and maintain planned maintenance work orders for routine EVS maintenance.
  • Manage the weekly cleaning of all vents throughout the facility.
  • Manage the monthly cleaning of all curtains and sheers throughout the facility.
  • Manage the cleaning and extraction of carpeting per the manufacturer specifications, so that it is neat in appearance at all times.
  • Manage the deep cleaning and disinfection program of all restrooms on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Manage the cleaning of all food outlet cleaning on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for achieving and maintaining resort level of cleanliness and upkeep of all company buildings
