About The Position

The EVS floor technician performs a variety of duties for the cleaning and maintenance of the hospital. Assists in the receiving and distribution of various supplies. The primary responsibility of the floor technician is to provide the highest quality of service at all times. Other responsibilities include keeping assigned areas in clean, orderly condition. In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the floor technician maintains floors in offices, patient or guest rooms, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention. The floor technician position includes shampooing carpets, extracting carpets, and spot cleaning carpets. The EVS supervisor may assign other duties that may require cleaning light fixtures, ceiling, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings. The floor technician may pass out supplies, move furniture, hang draperies, set up tables and chairs in conference rooms or halls, push/pull a cleaning cart, move supplies and equipment, carry buckets, operate equipment such as a vacuum cleaner and telephone, maintain tools/equipment and wear protective clothing as required by the work environment or government regulations. The floor technician may also train and coordinate activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premises. The EVS Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Hospital experience preferred
  • Floor experience required
  • Must know how to operate a buffer/polisher, carpet extractor and wet vac
