About The Position

Essential Functions Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishes, vacuums, sweepers, pressure wash equipment and carpet extractors. Provides daily preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used. Schedule and plan all restorative hard surface floor care work Ensure that all carpets are extracted at least two times per year Surface clean carpets at least once per month Maintain all EVS equipment as per manufacturer specifications Prioritize and coordinate with other workers as needed to complete floor care work within the overall scope of multi-trade projects. Assists the supervisor in the training of employees in proper floor care methods and procedures. Dust mops, cleans and burnishes floors; strips, refinishes, scrubs and/or recoats floors; machine scrubs floors according to floor maintenance schedules Assists supervisor with inventory, ordering supplies and ensures the use of chemicals and equipment is consistent with established safety standards and practices. Other duties as assigned within the EVS Department to include, but not limited to the duties of an EVS attendant Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be able to work independently. Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel. Respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights. Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required Three years of floor care experience or more required Three years of experience in working with cleaning chemicals required Certificate in floor care maintenance preferred Required Certification/License Not Required

Requirements
