About The Position

The Associate Director is responsible for ensuring the entire team of front-line managers receives the proper supervision, education, in-servicing, and support required to perform assigned duties and responsibilities successfully. The Associate Director will also coordinate staffing and work with internal customers to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The Associate Director will ensure the department has the resources and equipment to function 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the department's services; continually assess and improve the department’s performance/maintain appropriate quality control programs; provide orientation and training, continuing education opportunities of personnel within the department, participate in the selection of outside services if needed, and ensure compliance with appropriate patient care and business practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Five to seven years of management experience is required, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Environmental Services background required with demonstrated success within the EVS profession with knowledge of industry standards.
  • Demonstrated success with large complex matrixed departments required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.
  • Ability to learn new systems software.
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification is required within one year of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred in hospitality, health care, business, or equivalent.
