About The Position

Under the direction of the Lead Person, performs cleaning and related duties to patient rooms, offices, and other building areas necessary to provide a clean, sanitary, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customer groups.

Because the EVS Assistant will have some direct contact with patients, he/she must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of patients throughout the life-span (particularly psychosocial and emotional) and interact with patients and others accordingly.

Requirements

• Previous acute care hospital cleaning experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in healthcare, hospitality, or high volume related environments.
• Good communication skills required with the ability to understand both oral and written instructions.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., face mask, goggles, and latex/non A latex gloves) as needed.
• Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members; read, write and effectively communicate in English.
• Proven ability to organize time and tasks; to work within multiple departments, receiving direction from multiple sources.
• Able to establish and maintain good working relationships.
• Proficient in using the internet.
