As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards. Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens. To be successful in this role, you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients, their loved ones, and all who serve here. Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age specific data. Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care. Performs cleaning and/or isolation procedures of patient care areas; prepares room for new occupants and follow standards precautions. Performs cleaning of non patient care areas. Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops, wet mops, and vacuums floors. Completes high dusting of all ceiling objects, wall objects and horizontal surfaces following departmental procedures. Collects and disposes of trash and linen; relines containers and ensures cleanliness of containers.
