About The Position

The Every Voice New Hire Ambassador role at GE Appliances is essential for facilitating a smooth onboarding experience for new production employees. Bilingual Ambassadors will provide support throughout the transition process, ensuring new hires are well-integrated and set up for success in their roles. This position requires a service-oriented individual with a strong commitment to continuous learning and the ability to engage effectively with employees.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Swahili/Kinyarwanda and English.
• Completion of at least 2 production roles is strongly preferred.
• Strong desire to assist others and demonstrate a helpful attitude.
• Exhibit strong listening skills and be open to different viewpoints.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Demonstrate professionalism in handling challenging situations and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in interpreting for meetings, phone calls, and/or documents.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary point of contact for new production employees during onboarding and orientation.
• Conduct plant tours and teach I-9/Onboarding modules to new hires.
• Meet new hires on their first day and follow up with those who are absent.
• Gather feedback from new hires and ensure proper placement and training.
• Assist with timecard approvals and answer questions from new hires.
• Administer on-the-spot surveys and report findings to plant leaders and HR.
• Stay informed about resources and procedures, actively using technology like GEA Connect.
• Engage with employees at all levels and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
