About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Events Specialist plays an integral role in fulfilling this mission by planning, developing, and executing Bass Pro’s signature outdoor events. Equipped with a strategic and creative vision and outstanding interpersonal skills, the Event Specialist will successfully manage large-scale nationally recognized events from concept to execution. The Event Specialist is dedicated not only to ensuring an outstanding audience experience but also representing the commitment to conservation that Bass Pro Shops is known for.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field preferred, relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an advertising, event management or marketing role required.
  • Demonstrated experience in event management, with the ability to drive events through the complete cycle to success.
  • Proven leadership ability with a commitment to motivating and empowering team members.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and background in finance or accounting concepts preferred.
  • Considerable project management skills with attention to detail and process optimization.
  • Ability to manage expenses in alignment with budget expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain lasting partnerships.
  • As needed for event oversight and execution. Estimated at 20-50%
  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.
  • Occasionally walks and stands.
  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments.
  • Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the coordination and planning, logistics, budget adherence and scheduling for Bass Pro Shops owned events through the full event cycle that results in a seamless experience. 25%
  • Partner with leadership to coordinate the execution of nationally recognized events such as industry trade shows, sponsorships, tournaments, and other opportunities intended to identify new customers and engage with current customers and partners. 20%
  • Coordinate event logistics including and not limited to space allocation, sponsorship fulfillment, staffing, promotion, and technology through collaboration with internal departments inside the organization. 15%
  • Assist with the planning and execution of retail store events at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s stores across North America in alignment with customer acquisition and engagement goals as well as ensuring budget and timeline adherence. 15%
  • Act as the company representative for external partners and event attendees ensuring the highest level of service. 10%
  • Oversee the implementation of appropriate event reporting and documentation to track performance in alignment with established goals. 10%
  • Ensure proper event compliance and secure all permits necessary for vendors and sponsors. 5%
