Events Manager
About The Position
OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (ONC) is a nonpartisan political conversation site dedicated to fostering balanced and civil discussions to improve America. The organization welcomes Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, operating under the motto 'Less hate, more debate.' While some volunteers are involved, ONC is primarily driven by Gen Z students who contribute to articles, events, and podcasts. The organization is seeking an Events Manager to oversee the production of event advertisements, manage the EventBrite page, and moderate and coordinate the logistical details for virtual events, specifically political discussions and debates. The role encourages the development of unique event ideas, leveraging the group's approximately 50 student interns, monthly podcasts, and social media presence. ONC aims to charge a modest fee for events and has future aspirations to expand to in-person events in the Los Angeles, CA area. This is an unpaid position, as the organization is currently in the process of applying for new grants.
Requirements
- 5-10 hours a week commitment
- Use of Slack, Google Drive, EventBrite (or a similar platform) and Zoom (or willingness to learn)
- Able to commit at least 6 months
- Attend two (2) 40 minute zoom meetings weekly
