About The Position

CIC St. Louis is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Events Lead to manage event operations, book meetings and conferences, and ensure strong follow-through on all event details. This role is primarily focused on driving revenue through event bookings, while also supporting programming that enriches our community. This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of professional experience developing, curating, and leading events and programming in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Event Lead will connect our clients, collaborative partners, and the local community to enrich our growing innovation ecosystem.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience coordinating events (experience with social justice, community organizing, or community building strongly preferred).
  • Experience in event promotion and engagement strategies, data collection, and collaborative relationships.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends and to attend community events on behalf of CIC St. Louis.
  • A natural interest in helping and supporting others.
  • An interest in a long-term role; we are a growing company, and we like to hire people who can grow with us over the years.
  • An understanding of St. Louis and community organizations and engagement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CIC Events Program
  • Build strong client and partner relationships while overseeing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
  • Manage the full event lifecycle: screening requests, giving tours, preparing agreements, coordinating logistics, and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Drive event sales: prospect, qualify, and convert leads to meet revenue targets.
  • Use Tripleseat to track bookings, logistics, and reporting.
  • Oversee on-site operations: staff coordination, room setups/resets, walkthroughs, and space readiness.
  • Promote events through CIC marketing channels and evaluate success.
  • Manage the annual events budget and program metrics with the General Manager.
  • Lead Community Engagement
  • Represent CIC in the local innovation ecosystem, building partnerships with universities, corporations, nonprofits, investors, and government groups.
  • Serve as liaison with Cortex, Filament, and other partners on joint projects.
  • Plan community programs (e.g., Lunch & Learns, networking, wellness, and resource connections).
  • Attend external events to promote CIC and stay connected to trends.
  • Maintain organized records of partners, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Support Sales & Partnerships
  • Partner with the Sales team on leads, partnerships, and programming to grow revenue.
  • Track and evaluate event impact for business development.
  • Support corporate relationship-building locally and beyond St. Louis.
  • Support Marketing
  • Collaborate with local and central marketing teams to shape annual plans.
  • Develop local campaigns and content for social media, newsletters, and partner channels.
  • Manage creative, PR, and media partners to align with CIC’s global strategy.
  • Track results, share insights, and optimize future efforts.
