Wells Fargo’s Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) team is building a modern, integrated marketing function to accelerate our payments transformation. We’re looking for a strategic events and sponsorships leader who can create a commanding presence in the market, navigate complex contract negotiations, and turn industry moments and memorable client experiences into measurable brand lift and sales opportunities—working lean, moving fast, and collaborating across a matrix to get it done. Whether your background is B2B or B2C, if you’ve shaped flagship events, architected go-to-market moments, and know how to use data and heat mapping to penetrate the industry and prioritize investments, we’d love to meet you. Knowledge of payments/money movement dynamics is a plus—not a prerequisite. What you’ll do Set the vision & roadmap for GPL’s events and sponsorships portfolio—owning strategy, tiering, calendar design, and a clear measurement framework tied to client engagement and commercial outcomes. Create a strong brand presence at conferences, industry forums, and owned experiences—elevating awareness and visibility of thought leadership, solutions, and client focus with executive decision-makers and influencers. Lead complex negotiations: structure sponsorship agreements, entitlements, and multi‑year event contracts; partner closely with Legal, Sourcing, Meetings & Events, and Finance to de‑risk commitments and secure best terms. Work with a sense of urgency and purpose: stand up agile planning, vendor management, run‑of‑show excellence, and standardized toolkits/playbooks for repeatable execution at scale. Leverage data for decisions: identify white space, audience concentration, and competitive presence; build a transparent dashboard for executive visibility and continual optimization. Drive cross-functional impact: partner with Sales, Product, Communications, and Wholesale Digital to connect event moments to storytelling, content, and commercial follow-through. Strategy & Execution: operationalize pre/during/post-event engagement—briefs, talk tracks, 1:1 meeting programming, lead capture, and post‑event insights-to-action. Team leadership: coach a high-trust, inclusive team (anticipated ~3 direct reports) and manage agencies/vendors to high standards, clear SLAs, and budget discipline. Collaborate across the enterprise to ensure alignment with brand standards, compliance requirements, and risk frameworks while maintaining speed and creativity.
