About The Position

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is seeking a full-time Events Coordinator to join our staff at the DAR Headquarters building in Washington, DC. The incumbent will serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal resources to ensure a smooth execution of external event rentals This will include reviewing all event details, including timeframes, floor plans, and compliance with our regulations. We provide venue rental opportunities for a wide range of events, from weddings to lectures to filmings, and we require an individual with event management skills who can work with varied clientele and is adaptable to changing needs. This would be an ideal position for someone looking to expand their event management expertise, particularly to gain experience working within a historic venue. Work Schedule: Hybrid Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with the understanding that you will be required to work evenings and Sundays as needed. Reports to: Director, Events

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in the event coordination/planning, hospitality, or related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Familiarity with CRM/project managing systems (TripleSeat preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to communicate urgency for tasks to keep work on target.
  • Strong networking skills to build appropriate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Requires high amount of physical exertion working events, including continuous walking, long periods of standing, minimal lifting, bending, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in historic, museum, or nonprofit settings preferred.
  • Experience in D.C. wedding industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main client point of contact following contracting.
  • Responds to all questions related to venue policies, vendors and other event specific logistic recommendations.
  • Provide proactive communication and solutions for client needs and last-minute adjustments.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with our required vendor policies.
  • Assist in planning and executing internal events and annual meeting related programs.
  • Collect and manage required paperwork and process final payments.
  • Works in tandem with Sales Coordinator from inquiry to completed event.
  • Available for tours for prospective clients as needed.

  • Hiring annual salary range is between $56,000 to $63,000, with the final determination based upon the candidate's overall experience.
