About The Position

The Events Coordinator at Michaels is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children's birthday parties, within the store. This role aims to create a fun and engaging experience for guests while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency. The coordinator will manage multiple events simultaneously, engage with clients of all ages, and uphold the company's standards for cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.
  • Organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.

  • Knowledge of craft projects and activities for children.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
  • Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
  • Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks including answering emails and making phone calls.
  • Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup plans for events as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards before and after each event.
  • Help customers shop and locate products in the store.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS).
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance tasks.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with customers and team members.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.
