About The Position

The Events Coordinator at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is responsible for the coordination and communication of events to ensure customer satisfaction and hotel profitability. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects and provide excellent service to guests, contributing to the hotel's reputation as a premier destination for events in Nebraska.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to handle guest and employee concerns positively and effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills in English.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the hotel to perform essential job functions.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Marriott systems preferred.
• High degree of accuracy and detail orientation.
• Knowledge of food, beverage, Audio Visual, Room Sets, and Menu Planning preferred.
• Strong multiple-project management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Marriott systems including CI/TY.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate designated events and ensure proper communication of details to relevant departments.
• Type and distribute group resumes and amenities to hotel staff.
• Collect resumes from Event Managers and distribute Events Report to hotel staff.
• Attend in-house meetings including Scrub and weekly Sales/Event team meetings.
• Create and distribute weekly reports to appropriate hotel departments.
• Assist in resolving issues related to pricing, menu descriptions, and seating arrangements.
• Maintain accurate and organized administrative files.
