About The Position

The Events Bar Manager at O+O Hospitality is the creative force and on‑site leader behind every beverage experience in our private dining rooms. You’ll craft cocktail and wine programs, build engaging training content, mentor a talented bar team, and captain select events to ensure flawless, restaurant‑caliber service.

Requirements

  • 5+ years progressive bartending experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or training role within a high‑volume, upscale setting.
  • Expert knowledge of classic & modern cocktail technique, batching, draft cocktails, and low‑/no‑ABV offerings.
  • Extensive wine proficiency - varietals, regions, pairing principles
  • Proven ability to develop educational content and lead engaging training sessions.
  • Event‑management competence: creating timelines, staffing plans, floor‑plan comprehension, and polished guest relations.
  • Financial acumen: recipe costing, inventory software (BevSpot, COGS‑Well, or similar), and basic P&L understanding.
  • Current ServSafe Alcohol or Missouri SMART certification (or obtained within 30 days).
  • Capacity to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BEO software such as TripleSeat and POS systems like Toast.
  • Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design beverage programs that align with each event’s concept, budget, and service style—developing seasonal cocktail menus, curated wine pairings, and detailed recipe specs.
  • Produce training materials and lead ongoing beverage classes and tastings for bartenders, servers, and managers.
  • Act as Event Captain for bar service on high‑profile functions: coordinate timelines with culinary and service leads, run pre‑shift briefings, and remain present on the floor to guide the team.
  • Supervise bar staff performance, ensuring service standards, professionalism, and product knowledge are upheld throughout every shift.
  • Manage bar operations: ordering, receiving, inventory counts, and cost‑control reporting—hitting beverage COGS targets and preventing variance.
  • Maintain compliance with liquor‑license regulations, health‑department codes, and internal safety policies; immediately report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management .
  • Prepare post‑event bar reports detailing consumption, inventory needs, wins, and improvement opportunities for continuous program growth.
  • Attend Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and collaborate with Sales, Culinary, and Event Service teams to plan for successful execution.
  • Deliver genuine hospitality to guests, vendors, and colleagues while directing all efforts toward guest satisfaction, brand standards, and revenue generation .

  • Work flexible hours—evenings, weekends, and holidays—as event schedules require.
