About The Position

The Events and Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for managing all stages of event management, from conception to implementation to post-event evaluation. This role involves strategic planning in collaboration with the development director and BAS leadership to define event goals, target audiences, and alignment with the organization's mission and fundraising targets. The coordinator will develop comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets.

Requirements

  • Experience as a volunteer is helpful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities within the agency's framework.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate donors and sponsors.
  • Capacity for risk-taking, creative thinking, and innovative ideas.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with fundraising tracking/database software.
  • Valid driver's license and accessible vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all practical aspects of events including venue selection, vendor management, budget management, scheduling, risk management, and compliance.
  • Work with marketing and communications teams to promote events and manage attendee registrations.
  • Cultivate sponsors and donors, manage donor stewardship, and oversee auction management.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator for recruitment, training, and management of volunteers.
  • Oversee on-site execution of events, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues.
  • Conduct post-event analysis and prepare reports on event outcomes and financial performance.
  • Leverage events to generate revenue, increase awareness, cultivate relationships, promote the mission, build community, enhance visibility, and provide stewardship.
