As part of the Employer Relations (ER) team within Liberal Arts Career Services, this role contributes to both strategic initiatives, daily operations supporting students, employers, and campus collaboration as well as taking a supportive role end-to-end event planning. This role is ideal for someone who values the unique strengths of a liberal arts education and is committed to helping students translate their academic experiences into competitive, marketable skills. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Events and Employer Relations. This is a three-year fixed term position.

  • Actively support Career Services events and aid the Assistant Director in developing programming tailored for liberal arts students by taking ownership of administrative duties.
  • Create event pages/collateral, venue booking and walkthroughs, vendor coordinating, fielding some employer communication and payments/filing management and coordinating event materials.
  • Support ER leadership with smooth transitions from initial outreach to on-campus engagement by maintaining ongoing employer communication.
  • Be present day-of for engagements, can speak on the unique skills liberal arts students have to offer during employer interaction.
  • Work with data analyst to ensure clean ER data is entered in CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the Career Services team to support student career readiness by integrating relevant employer and alumni feedback.
  • Assist data meet university outcome goals.
  • Share insights from events, and work across campus to align programming with labor market trends and team priorities.
  • Attend weekly staff and professional development meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience in higher education, event coordination or other relevant sectors.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and excellence in oral and written communication.
  • Exceptional event planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Master’s degree.
  • 3 years experience in event planning.
  • Experience supporting employer or alumni engagement in a higher education context.
  • Familiarity with UT Austin systems, career services platforms (e.g., 12twenty, Symplicity, Handshake), and cloud-based tools like Airtable or Canvas.
  • Confident using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and virtual event coordination.
