POSITION SUMMARY Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is excited to add an Event Venue Assistant to the team! This part-time position will be located at Grady Cole Center and American Legion Memorial Stadium and will oversee tournaments and special events at the facilities. This includes but is not limited to coordinating Press Box operations (video board run of show, game cameras, sounds, and lights), facility maintenance and preparations for scheduled events, and ensuring all logistics are taken care of before, during, and after events. The selected candidate will also provide support for participants and spectators during events and communicate frequently with management to ensure effective facility operations. This position will work about 29 hours per week, which will include weekday mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business/facility needs. Additionally, this position will primarily work outdoors and may encounter varying weather conditions. Facility Information: American Legion Memorial Stadium and Grady Cole Center are located near uptown Charlotte and adjacent to Central Piedmont Community College. It consists of a newly renovated 9,300-seat stadium and an attached 2000-seat civic center. The facility hosts a variety of festivals, concerts and professional & collegiate sports year-round, including tournaments such as the Men’s & Women’s ACC Lacrosse Championships. In addition, the facility is the home of 3 professional sports teams- Charlotte Independence (Men’s Soccer), Anthem RC (Men’s Rugby), and Carolina Ascent FC (Women’s Soccer).
