About The Position
The Event Services Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of events at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) and the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC). This position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces. The worker will be tasked with setting up tables, chairs, and other equipment necessary for events, as well as performing changeovers and teardowns. This includes the assembly and installation of stages, bleachers, barricades, and other essential equipment. The role requires physical strength and stamina, as the worker will frequently transport heavy equipment and supplies, both manually and with the aid of hand-trucks. In addition to setup duties, the Event Services Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility. This includes cleaning various areas such as pre-function spaces, restrooms, storage areas, and outdoor facilities. The worker will utilize cleaning chemicals and solutions in accordance with OSHA safety standards, ensuring that all areas are kept in pristine condition. Regular maintenance tasks include servicing restrooms, operating trash compactors, and managing outdoor spaces by removing trash and debris. The worker must also be prepared to handle snow removal during winter months, ensuring safe access to the facility. The position demands a professional demeanor, as the worker will interact with event attendees and staff, addressing inquiries and concerns with urgency and courtesy. The ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to strict schedules is essential.
