About The Position

Special event security officers are scheduled for various shifts at fairs, festivals, concerts, receptions, sporting events and other events held at arenas, fairgrounds, hotels, schools, civic centers, parks, amphitheaters and stadiums. Events may include anything from a large event with over 1000 to 50,000+ attendees and a large team of officers to a small event working by yourself.   Expected Schedule for Events Most special events are on Friday, Saturday & Sunday in the days and evenings. Shifts are usually between 4 to 12 hours in length at local venues. Primary Job Responsibilities The successful candidate works closely with police and event organizers to create a safe, family-friendly environment. You are always highly visible and speak politely and professionally to deter disruptive individuals and enforce venue rules, ensure access control and conduct weapons screening and other tasks critical to event safety.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete additional training required.
  • Possess a Current California Driver's License and have No DMV points against them (if using company or client vehicle).
  • Candidate must have state of California guard card registration and or additional permits.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Minimum 18 years of age (21 years of age for some positions)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must communicate in English fluently (read, write, and speak)
  • Prepare clear and concise (readable) reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify escalating conditions and quickly mitigate same.
  • You have good written communications, organizational and time management skills and are able to work both as part of a large team and individually for long periods of time both inside and outside.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with BSIS required certification & training requirements.
  • Follow company policies and client instructions.
  • Maintain high visibility at all times to prevent theft & other crimes.
  • Conduct random & scheduled foot patrols of the venue.
  • Provide access control by ensuring that only authorized people are on the property. Professionally interact with others.
  • Conduct detailed observations of people & vehicles on the property.
  • Provide detail written reports of your activities via mobile device app(s).
  • Use and maintain company and client equipment.
  • Alert your supervisor or law enforcement for non-compliant individuals, crime, emergency or situations outside your training and knowledge Work all hours assigned.
  • Monitor site conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Communicate by use of TrackTik Software for reporting using Smart Phone, Tablets, and/or computer.
  • Respond to alarms notify police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Verbally warn violators of rule infractions
  • Allow authorized persons to enter property and monitor access points.
  • Monitor and enforce Property Removal, as well as deter theft.
  • Investigate and prepare Incident Reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and assist. customers, employees and visitors in a courteous manner.
