About The Position

Securitas is seeking professional Part-Time Event Security Officers to join our team in Newark , NJ . This position is strictly event-based , meaning shifts are scheduled around venue events, with a primary focus on weekend evenings and occasional weekday evenings . As an Event Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of attendees, staff, and performers at large-scale events such as concerts, sporting events, and festivals .

Requirements

Valid SORA license
High School Diploma or GED
7 Verification of employment /school history
Must pass a drug screening and background check
Weekend availability required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to stay focused and alert in dynamic, high-energy environments
Strong sense of integrity , dependability, and teamwork

Nice To Haves

Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to security protocols
Stay calm and composed under pressure or in emergencies
Strong observational skills with the ability to quickly identify potential risks or concerns
Experience in security, public safety, or event management is a plus

Responsibilities

Conduct bag checks and frisking for prohibited items (e.g., weapons, contraband, outside food/drink)
Verify tickets and identify signs of fraud or tampering
Monitor crowd behavior and manage flow to prevent bottlenecks or safety concerns
Identify and de-escalate situations involving disruptive or unsafe behavior
Monitor backstage, VIP, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access
Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire, or disturbances
Administer basic first aid and coordinate with emergency responders as needed
Assist in executing evacuation procedures when necessary
