About The Position

The Event Sales Coordinator at Thompson Hotels is responsible for servicing events, working closely with Event Sales Managers to negotiate contracts and manage accounts. The role focuses on banquet food, beverage, and setup, including menu planning and hospitality services. The coordinator ensures effective communication with hotel staff before, during, and after events to maintain high service levels and may assist in hosting site inspections and leading event meetings.

Requirements

  • Desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Prefer a four-year hospitality degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Geographically mobile.

Responsibilities

  • Service events by coordinating with Event Sales Managers.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage accounts for events.
  • Plan menus and set agendas for events.
  • Facilitate communication with hotel staff before, during, and after events.
  • Assist in hosting site inspections as needed.
  • Participate and/or lead event meetings and other staff meetings.
