The Event Planning Assistant provides marketing and organizational support to the annual Fire in the Pines Festival in Wilmington NC. This large environmental educational event is a community staple raising awareness about the benefits of controlled burning in the local area The Event Planning Assistant will help grow the annual Fire in the Pines Festival within the community and assist with marketing through social media and design. They will help coordinate with partner agencies in the organization and logistics of the festival. They will be responsible for maintenance of festival supplies and equipment. The Assistant has frequent interaction with staff throughout the program and with partner agencies. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, have excellent communication skills, and be able to develop relationships with exhibitors and community leaders.
