Headquartered in Arlington, VA, BDS has significant operations in many states and several countries, including Boeing's Commercial and Government Satellite facility in El Segundo, CA. BDS is seeking an Event Planner / Customer Engagement Specialist to join the Business Development (BD) Customer & Market Engagement team located in El Segundo, CA. As a member of the BDS Customer & Market Engagement team, you will provide leadership and support in strategic event planning and marketing support to various BDS programs, both domestic and international. As the Customer Engagement Specialist you are focused on supporting customer events within the BDS business and across Boeing locations in Southern California, including but not limited to El Segundo and Huntington Beach.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience assembling and delivering key briefings both to senior leadership as well as through the organization.
  • 5 years of experience planning, organizing, facilitating and/or executing large scale meetings and events.
  • 5 years of experience with managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
  • Experience with geographically dispersed team.
  • Willing and able to obtain a U.S Top Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current and active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • More than 5 years experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior management, customers, stakeholders, peers and partners.
  • Certified Meeting Professional, Certified Government Meeting Professional, or other event marketing industry certification.
  • Experience developing and managing event related technology including registration systems, event management systems, event apps, etc.
  • Experience with working with international customers.
  • Experience with Contracts and Negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Support BDS customer meetings and events within the Southern California region.
  • Planning, coordination, and execution of complex customer meetings and events including site visits, product launches, conferences, product demonstrations, site tours, and sponsored functions for U.S. Department of Defense and international customers.
  • Support BDS Space and Satellite launch events domestically (Kennedy Space Center) and internationally.
  • Support BDS Space and Satellite trade shows domestically and internationally.
  • Demonstrated leadership, event project management, marketing, communication, and teambuilding skills are key.
  • Proficiency with event related technology including registration systems, event management systems, event apps, etc.
  • Organizes and manages a multi-disciplined team (e.g., facilities, marketing/communications, graphics, security, transportation, etc.) to implement the plan.
  • Continuously collect, integrate, and proactively disseminate information to all stakeholders to ensure adherence to the plan.
  • Increased exposure to and support of senior executives to include briefings, sharing the plan, and developing executive event schedules.
  • Research and evaluate potential venues based on customer requirements and make recommendations.
  • Implement logistics for complex and/or highly visible visits/events in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of customer's customs and cultures in all aspects of the visit/event.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and event budget targets.
  • Provide on-site management of resources for visit/event.
  • Facilitate process improvements based on in-depth analysis of feedback.
