About The Position

The Event Manager is responsible for the execution and installation of events from booking to break-down. This person works closely with the Event Sales Manager in overseeing all aspects of events. This position is responsible for, hiring training and managing the Front of House Events staff, as well as day-to-day administration of events and programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum one or more years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Food handler certification required
  • RBS certification required
  • 2-3 years customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality and/or catering industry
  • Event operations in a country or golf club or Director level position at high-end, resort-style, family-oriented club, hospitality, or event facility.
  • In depth understanding of upscale large service event management through the eyes and experience of the client and industry peers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good verbal and written English Language skills.
  • Possess solid time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage event schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels and review/approve time and attendance
  • Assist with management of comprehensive catering production schedule and event planning docs including party rental breakout, floor plans, vendor selection, etc.
  • Support the logistical planning and execution of events
  • Serve as a liaison between event operation and sales
  • Day-to-day administration of events and programs may include placing orders, BEO review, monitoring vendors, answering questions, resolving issues and some client facing duties
  • Organize and assist in management of the inventory
  • Assist with client walk-throughs and venue tours as needed
  • Respond to incoming event leads and gather information for Event Sales Manager
  • Maintain inventory and product allocation for shows
  • Maintain an updated list of scheduled events and event assets
  • Assist with managing event production schedule and event vendors throughout the event day
  • Assist with set up of food stations and buffets
  • Participate in final end-of-night venue walkthrough to ensure appropriate breakdown procedures and clean-up
  • Responsible for, staffing, hiring, training and managing Events Front of House Staff that includes Food Servers, Bartenders, Bussers, and Housemen/Porters/
  • Facilitate post-event reporting and documentation
  • Assist in editing and designing marketing & promotional materials
