About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Supervisor, and in his/her absence the Superintendent of Recreation, the Even Host supervises the facility and participants. The Event Host also sets up, takes down and cleans for rentals. The Event Host is also expected to be available during Building hours for The Clubhouse at Dolphin Lake which are 8:00 am – Midnight. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

  • Works without constant supervision.
  • Must have basic cleaning and custodial knowledge.
  • Must have good customer service.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Good with problem solving, organization, and people skills.
  • Must have a High School diploma or a GED.
  • CPR/AED Certified or able to become certified before working a rental.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
  • Arrive 30 minutes before rental time unless otherwise instructed. Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Be visible and provide an excellent experience to all customers in facility. Do not leave the building unattended during shift.
  • Complete facility inspection sheet with renter. Any and all infractions made must be reported to the Recreation Supervisor and/or Superintendent of Recreation.
  • Help secure any special requests and provide assistance to event guests as needed.
  • Communicate any concerns, building needs, suggestions or unexpected items to supervisor.
  • If unable to attend scheduled shift, a 48 hours’ notice to supervisor is required and a replacement staff member must be found
  • Cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Leave the facility ready for the next day’s events at the end of each closing shift.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
  • Adhere to department dress code.
  • Maintain a positive public appearance.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
