Event Facilitator - FT

About the position

As an Event Facilitator you’ll help facilitate volunteers through our meal packing experience so it runs smoothly and hosts are satisfied. You’ll drive equipment and materials to and from the event in a box truck (no CDL license needed). You will represent Rise Against Hunger with hosting groups and use your outgoing personality and public speaking skills to empower volunteers to join our mission to end hunger, one event at a time!

Responsibilities

• Facilitate volunteers during meal packing events.
• Drive equipment and materials to and from events using a box truck.
• Represent Rise Against Hunger with hosting groups.
• Engage and connect with volunteers to empower them in the mission to end hunger.
• Utilize social media to communicate and drive event participation.

Requirements

• Strong presentation skills.
• Excellent multitasking abilities.
• Superb interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make sound judgments in decision making.
• Comfortable working with diverse groups, including faith-based organizations.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift bags of ingredients weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively.
• Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience, education or knowledge related to hunger, international development, and/or non-profits.
• Experience using specialized equipment such as box trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
• Fundraising and/or sales experience.
• Experience with Salesforce.
• Public speaking experience.
• Volunteer coordination experience.
• Event facilitation experience.
