About The Position
Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel is seeking an Event Crew Member to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of events and facilities. The crew member will work closely with leads, supervisors, clients, and other staff to deliver a successful event experience. Under regular supervision, the crew member will be responsible for various operational tasks, including providing audio-visual support and performing custodial duties within the conference center and hotel. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, which may include setting up tables and chairs, operating audio-visual equipment for events, and monitoring sound, lighting, and projection systems to ensure everything runs smoothly. Troubleshooting technical issues as they arise is also a key part of the job. The crew member will maintain an inventory of equipment and assist with event planning and coordination as needed, all while providing excellent customer service to clients and attendees. Compliance with safety and security policies is essential, as is assisting with event logistics, including setup, teardown, and cleanup. In addition to audio-visual responsibilities, the crew member may also take on custodial and maintenance tasks. This includes maintaining cleanliness in conference rooms, hotel rooms, offices, and common areas, as well as performing light maintenance tasks such as fixing minor leaks and changing light bulbs. The crew member is expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner, demonstrating an investment in student leadership and adhering to a regular work schedule.
