About The Position

The Event Assistant must be a detailed-oriented person with a heart to serve at Cornerstone Chapel and the ability to work efficiently in a changing environment. The duties and responsibilities of an Event Assistant center on supporting the administrative tasks of the Events Team. This individual will demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in all interactions with congregants, volunteers, and staff. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 required; Minimum age of 21 preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in an Event Coordinator or administrative support role preferred
  • Quick learner
  • Public Relations skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Problem solver
  • Efficient worker who is able to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
  • Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to perform occasional seated desk work at a computer
  • Light lifting may be required

  • Exemplifies Christian behavior in attitude, speech and actions towards others

  • Occasional local visits to Cornerstone Christian Academy, as needed
  • 20 hours per week; work hours will vary and will require flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicates with Manager concerning any needs, issues, or concerns
  • Operates office equipment such as computers, printers/copiers, or phone systems, and requests repairs or updates when equipment malfunctions
  • Assists in the volunteer management process ( volunteer pipeline, communications, and management)
  • Supports calendar management (schedules annual and weekly meetings)
  • Records notes and meeting minutes for team meetings
  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Events
  • Tracks, organizes, and manages certificates of insurance for the various vendors who assist the events department
  • Assists with setup and tear-down for events
  • Collects credit card receipts and expense information from managers and submits to manager and accounting for approval
  • Provides expense information for department invoices and submits to manager and accounting for approval
  • Learns to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented like MS Loop and MS Planner
