About The Position

Mascot & Event Support (Part-Time) The Mascot & Event Support role brings the fun, energy, and guest-focused spirit of the Kemah Boardwalk to life. This team member will perform as a costumed character during events, assist with event operations, and help create memorable experiences for families, homeschool groups, community partners, and seasonal crowds. This is a part-time, guest-facing position ideal for someone who enjoys performing, interacting with the public, and supporting fast-paced events.

Requirements

  • Comfortable performing in a full-body mascot costume for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and guest-service skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs and assist with event setup.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior performance or mascot experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a Kemah Boardwalk mascot character during scheduled events, photo ops, and promotional moments.
  • Maintain high energy, positive body language, and character integrity while in costume.
  • Interact with guests of all ages in a friendly, welcoming, and safe manner.
  • Assist the Events Team with setup, breakdown, and on-site logistics (tables, signage, activity stations, etc.).
  • Support event activities such as crafts, games, meet-and-greets, and crowd engagement.
  • Follow all safety guidelines related to costume handling, heat management, and guest interaction.
  • Collaborate with the Events Team to ensure smooth event flow and exceptional guest expenence.
  • Represent the Kemah Boardwalk brand with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
