About The Position

Our Recreation Division offers a wide variety of programs, including youth and adult sports, fitness classes, art workshops, special interest activities, science programs, and more. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, friendly individuals who enjoy working in a vibrant community recreation center environment. The Event and Facility Attendant supports the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of event spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests. Duties include arranging furniture and equipment for meetings and events, assisting with audio-visual setup, and performing general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and window washing. The position also maintains facility interiors and exteriors, including restrooms, hallways, patios, and public areas, while ensuring equipment is properly maintained. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a professional, service-oriented attitude at all times. Requirements

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time.
  • This position is classified as safety-sensitive which requires candidates to successfully undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment. They will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment in accordance with the City of Glendale Substance Abuse policy. A post-offer physical assessment is required. The City of Glendale will incur the cost of all required testing.

Nice To Haves

  • No previous work experience required. Banquet set up or audio-visual experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the banquet room setup and breakdown for various meetings and events.
  • Assist with audio visual set up and break down when necessary.
  • Dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep floors, and move furniture when necessary.
  • Empty, clean, and line waste receptacles
  • Wash windows and walls.
  • Maintain and repair equipment.
  • Various janitorial duties.
  • Continuous cleaning of facility inside and out to include but not limited to; public space areas hallways, offices, restrooms, and entryways to facility; Also includes upkeep of both outdoor patio(s) and window cleaning.
  • Demonstrate the ability to take instruction and promote a team environment.
  • Perform other functions as requested.
  • Always maintain a professional and friendly appearance.
