Event Adminstrator and Host
About The Position
Islander 71 Fish House & Raw Bar is seeking a highly organized, professional Event Administrator & Host to support our growing events and private dining program. This hybrid role combines administrative event coordination with onsite hosting responsibilities to ensure a seamless experience for our guests from the initial inquiry through the event itself. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both administrative work and being present in a hospitality environment. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable communicating with clients while also supporting the team onsite during service and events.
Requirements
- 5+ years of administrative, office support, hospitality, or client service experience
- Event coordination or event planning experience strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on tasks independently
- Comfortable using technology for communication, reporting, and client tracking
- Professional presence and ability to represent the restaurant with clients and guests
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound event inquiries and client communications
- Coordinate event logistics with management, kitchen, and service teams
- Prepare event confirmations, timelines, and communication with clients
- Follow up with clients after events to ensure a great experience and encourage repeat business
- Maintain organized systems for event tracking and client communication
- Build and maintain templates, guides, FAQs, and other event resources
- Track event sales and provide updates during weekly management meetings
- Serve as a host during service and events to support guest flow and hospitality
- Assist with event setup, coordination, and guest experience onsite
- Welcome guests and ensure smooth execution of event logistics
- Communicate with managers and service staff to maintain a high standard of service
