About The Position

Join Our Team - Find Your Future! The position involves maintaining company vehicles and other equipment in safe mechanical condition. The mechanic will conduct preventative maintenance to prevent untimely wear, damage, or breakdown, ensuring the fleet is in a high state of operational readiness. Evening hours are from 3 PM to 11 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Several years of experience or a combination of experience and training in automotive mechanics.
• Thorough knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, air and hydraulic brake systems, vehicle wiring, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License with hazardous materials, air brake, and tank endorsements.
• CETP training and certification.
• Brake adjusting license.
• Ability to pass a D.O.T physical.
• VK Inspections Certificate.
• State vehicle inspection license.
• Certification to reseal meters and register.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training relating to automotive mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Review daily truck reports and immediately repair any safety issues.
• Perform lubrication, fluid checks, and oil changes in accordance with company preventive maintenance schedules and vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
• Conduct routine repairs on all vehicle systems and components including changing and rotating tires, brake repair, spring replacement, and troubleshooting and repair of a variety of truck systems maintenance issues.
• Perform all necessary vehicle inspections including state and federal D.O.T.
• Maintain and repair fuel pumping equipment, piping, ticket registers, and emergency shut-off systems.
• Maintain maintenance records on all vehicles and equipment.
• Track all parts used and report inventory needs to supervisor.
• Schedule outside repairs with appropriate vendors.
• Keep garage and maintenance areas neat and organized.
