The Evening Manager is responsible for effectively directing and managing all aspects of the store in the absence of the store manager. This includes ensuring courteous customer service, handling complaints professionally, and delegating duties efficiently for maximum performance. The role also involves maintaining a clean and orderly store, ensuring building and equipment safety, optimizing product freshness and merchandising for sales and profits, and implementing fire, safety, and security programs. The Evening Manager will greet customers, conduct refrigeration checks, and oversee all store operations during evening hours, while adhering to company policies. Supplemental duties include assisting in the cash office, supporting other departments as needed, communicating problems to management, and assisting with grocery department tasks such as building displays, merchandising, signage, collecting carts, and general stocking.
