About The Position

The Janitor at our Marysville site, plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors. This position ensures that all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces, are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained according to union standards and facility guidelines. The janitor will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, managing waste disposal, and reporting any maintenance issues promptly to support operational efficiency. This role requires adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as collaboration with other union members and facility management to uphold a high standard of cleanliness. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to the overall productivity and positive atmosphere of the Marysville PDC by ensuring the facility remains orderly and hygienic at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
• The required skills for this role include the ability to efficiently use cleaning tools and equipment to maintain facility cleanliness, which is essential for daily operations.
• Attention to detail ensures that all areas meet hygiene standards and that any issues are promptly identified and reported.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity are necessary to perform repetitive tasks and handle cleaning materials safely.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces throughout the facility.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, and ensuring sanitary conditions.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials in accordance with facility policies and environmental guidelines.
• Report any maintenance or safety hazards observed during cleaning activities to the appropriate personnel.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively following union and OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with other janitorial staff and facility management to coordinate cleaning schedules and special projects.
• Ensure compliance with all union agreements, safety protocols, and company policies while performing duties.
