About The Position
Join a network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. The role involves altering various formal dresses, including evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, performing tasks such as hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup insertions, and zipper repairs. The position requires working with structured formal dresses that may have multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Key responsibilities include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines to clients, delivering high-quality finishing, and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. The platform also receives requests for alterations on wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
