About The Position

Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering various formal dresses, including evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, performing tasks such as hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup insertions, and zipper repairs. You will work with structured formal dresses that may have multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. The position also requires conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, and clearly communicating timelines to clients. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishing and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. Additionally, there may be requests for alterations on wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.

Requirements

• Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency
• Professional communication and customer service

Responsibilities

• Alter evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses (hemming, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured formal dresses (multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, linings)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
• Receive requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear
