About The Position
This role is for an independent alteration professional specializing in evening and cocktail wear. Responsibilities include altering evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, covering tasks such as hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, straps, cups, and zippers. The position requires working with structured formal dresses that may have multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Professionals will conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and clearly communicate timelines to clients. Maintaining high-quality finishing and an organized workspace suitable for fittings is essential. The network also receives requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
