About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering various formal dresses such as evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, including tasks like hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup adjustments, and zipper repairs. The work requires experience with structured formal dresses, often involving multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Responsibilities also include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, and clearly communicating timelines to clients. The professional must deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings. There are also requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
