About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering various formal dresses, including evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, performing tasks such as hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup insertions, and zipper repairs. The work requires handling structured formal dresses with multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. The professional will also conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and clearly communicate timelines to clients. High-quality finishing and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings are essential. Additionally, there may be requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
