About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering various formal dresses such as evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, including complex tasks like hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup adjustments, and zipper repairs. The work requires handling structured formal dresses with multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Key responsibilities include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines to clients, and ensuring high-quality finishing. Professionals are expected to maintain an organized workspace suitable for client fittings. Additionally, there may be requests for alterations on wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
