About The Position

The Evening Fitness Lead is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for overseeing fitness service, equipment, and member satisfaction during afternoon and evening hours Tuesdays through Saturdays. This position ensures safety, cleanliness, equipment readiness, and policy compliance while delivering excellent member service. The Evening Fitness Lead serves as the go-to leader on the floor, supporting all departments, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a smooth and welcoming club environment. The Evening Fitness Lead is required to hold a Personal Trainer Certification and perform fitness assessments, new member appointments, group training, partner training, and personal training services. With time, this professional will build a regular client base. This role will also provide parental leave coverage for the Group Exercise Supervisor. It is ideal for a passionate fitness professional looking for growth, for someone who is comfortable leading by presence, and a person who takes pride in keeping a facility running at a high standard. Compensation- $20 -$ 23 hourly, plus the ability to earn commission pay Fitness Services Noon Circuit Training Class on Wednesdays and Fridays. Member Assessment and Orientation Appointments Fee-based Small Group Training Personal Training for individual and partner clients An ideal candidate can teach group exercise classes and will provide coverage for the Group Fitness Supervisor while on parental leave this Spring. Operations & Safety Conduct regular walkthroughs of the entire club to ensure safety, cleanliness, and policy compliance. Enforce club policies with professionalism and consistency for adults, teens, and youth. Respond to incidents and emergencies according to HFAC emergency procedures. Serve as the primary evening contact for operational issues. Equipment & Facility Management Oversee evening equipment reset, organization, and readiness in the studios, weight training areas, gymnasium, rock wall, and aquatic center. Perform equipment inventory checks and report maintenance or repair needs. Assist with light physical tasks such as moving equipment and resetting spaces. Member Experience Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional presence on the fitness floor. Greet members, answer questions, and assist with concerns or feedback. Model HFAC’s service standards and support a positive club culture. Emergency Response & Support Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or obtain within 30 days). Comfortably enter the pool in an emergency if needed. Assist with incident documentation and end-of-shift reporting. Operational Support Support closing procedures and communicate key updates to management. Collaborate with department staff to ensure smooth evening operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday, including 12-1 on Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with clients and other team members.
  • Must possess a current certification as a fitness instructor or personal trainer.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven customer service experience with a strong guest-focused mentality.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in physiology or a related field is a plus.
