About The Position

Evening Custodian (Safety Services Department) PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, headquartered in Andalusia, AL, is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative with 22 distribution members - 18 electric distribution systems and four municipal electric systems - in Alabama and northwest Florida. PowerSouth's member systems provide power to end-use consumers across 51 counties in Alabama and 10 counties in Florida. JOB SUMMARY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The purpose of this position is to perform custodial maintenance work at PowerSouth. This is an entry level position. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license. Incumbent must be capable of performing various types of general housekeeping duties. Incumbent must be capable of operating various types of equipment involved in vacuuming, shampooing and buffing floors and have knowledge of selection and use of proper janitorial products and equipment. Previous custodial experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license.
Incumbent must be capable of performing various types of general housekeeping duties.
Incumbent must be capable of operating various types of equipment involved in vacuuming, shampooing and buffing floors and have knowledge of selection and use of proper janitorial products and equipment.
Employment is subject to a negative drug screen, background check, and completion of a comprehensive application for employment.

Responsibilities

Assists in maintaining janitorial services at PowerSouth to include but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, shampooing and buffing floors.
Cleans and disinfects bathroom facilities and other building and office areas, including cleaning mirrors, dusting and cleaning windows.
Wipes down walls in restrooms. Also performs same tasks at Point A Lodge and Roby House as assigned.
Collects and disposes of garbage and recycle materials.
Assists in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies at PowerSouth, including restocking restrooms with soap, toilet paper, paper towels, toilet liners, etc.
Picks up supplies for breakrooms and restrooms from warehouse and delivers to various headquarters buildings.
Cleans and maintains breakrooms as assigned. Duties include trash/garbage removal, floor scrubbing/sweeping/mopping, and stripping/waxing as required.
Assists in setting up/taking down for meetings in Board Room and other conference rooms as required.
Performs other special duties as assigned.
