Requirements
- Proving experience as a caregiver or in a similar role
- Ability to safely and confidently use a transfer board and gait belt
- Knowledge or proper body mechanics and fall-prevention techniques
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions
- Must be physically able to assist with transfers and mobility
Responsibilities
- Assist with safe transfers using a transfer board and gait belt
- Support mobility, positioning, and ambulation as needed
- Assist with evening routines such as personal hygiene, toileting, dressing and preparation for bed
- Handle meal planning, preparation and feeding as needed
- Monitor safety and provide supervision to prevent falls or injuries
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Light housekeeping related to client care
- Observe and report any changes in condition or concerns to family or supervisor
