About The Position

Every year, millions of Americans navigate the challenges of living with a mental health condition. At UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor, we are dedicated to making a difference by expanding access to essential mental health resources for those in Erie and surrounding counties. We are excited to invite a compassionate and skilled Evaluation Professional Nurse (RN) to join our team, working in collaboration with our prescribers, therapists, and case managers to provide crucial support to underserved individuals struggling with mental health issues or substance use disorders. The Evaluation Professional Nurse is a Registered Nurse and vital member of the care team, responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care. Your responsibilities will include managing patient care for both our 8-bed residential units, and outpatient clinics. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes. You will maintain accountability for nursing care quality and patient safety, in addition to working independently with sound judgement, communication and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Must have a current RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum six months experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
  • Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
  • Mobility and visual manual dexterity.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.

  • BSN preferred.
  • UPMC approved national certification preferred.
