About The Position

The Evaluation and Research Analyst at the WRI Ross Center for Cities plays a crucial role in supporting the Prize for Cities, a global competition aimed at celebrating transformative urban projects. This position involves integrating equity into urban development initiatives, managing evaluation processes, and facilitating engagement activities. The analyst will work closely with various teams to ensure the successful implementation of the Prize, contributing to research, analysis, and knowledge sharing to promote sustainable urban growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainable urban development, international studies, environmental science, public policy/administration, urban planning, economics, geography, political science, history, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in research and engagement activities.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize and interpret information.
  • Proficient in organizing large datasets and complex information.
  • Excellent writing, database management, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of urban development, planning, and sustainability issues.
  • Highly motivated with a collaborative work style and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and able to meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in or knowledge of UX/UI design.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the Prize, focusing on learning, evaluation, research, and engagement activities.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators in collaboration with the Prize Lead and track progress.
  • Assist the Prize Lead with inquiries, meeting organization, and KPI tracking.
  • Build a community of change-makers by collaborating with various teams.
  • Plan and implement engagement events such as award ceremonies and learning roundtables.
  • Liaise with external partners, including urban thought leaders and practitioners.
  • Coordinate communications and stakeholder engagement activities across teams.
  • Contribute to strategy development and provide updates during team meetings.
  • Implement the Prize evaluation process, including data collection and management.
  • Manage the submission portal and maintain filing systems for diverse information sets.
  • Conduct background research and qualitative or quantitative analysis on Prize applications.
  • Develop written materials for various communications channels, including blogs and presentations.
  • Support the development of knowledge products and workshops to advance the Prize learning agenda.
