About The Position

As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the connectivity and performance of RPC's technology infrastructure. This position ensures that our offices, data center, and cloud environments adhere to industry standards and best practices for networking. Your primary responsibilities will include the implementation and operations of network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least three years focused on Network Engineering.
  • Expertise in Routing and Switching technologies and enterprise-grade hardware.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and STP.
  • Experience with SD-WAN management, including deployment, updates, circuit monitoring, and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in managing physical on-premises, remote data center, and cloud networking environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure configuration standards for network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Experience in network capacity planning, traffic analysis, tabletop troubleshooting exercises, and coordinating yearly network audits.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST and SOX.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead by example.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to succeed in an ever-evolving work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement network toolsets to ensure reliable connectivity and prevent unauthorized access or network downtime.
  • Serve as a member of the infrastructure team, working closely with your peers and the architecture team to identify best practices and deploy a high-performance approach to networking.
  • Collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to support project delivery, update network standards, and contribute to the overall success of our infrastructure program.
  • Develop and maintain detailed system documentation for network technologies, including SD-WAN, Wireless (WLAN), VPN/Remote Access, Firewalls, and Load Balancing.
  • Establish, update, and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals and performance requirements.
  • Assist with integration and connectivity efforts for third-party vendor solutions, multi-cloud interconnects, and site-to-site tunnels, overseeing implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Proactively recommend network solutions to meet the company’s evolving bandwidth and latency needs.
  • Participate in a hybrid work model, spending 1-2 days weekly from our corporate office in Atlanta, GA.
