The position involves researching, evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining system and product solutions while applying engineering principles. The individual will provide technical direction and engineering support for various projects and infrastructure. A key aspect of this role is to develop and maintain an expert functional knowledge of evolving IT engineering industry technologies, competition, concepts, and trends. The responsibilities include full life-cycle project management, establishing and leading project teams, and developing comprehensive project plans that encompass scope, schedule, cost, and communications. The role requires the procurement and management of resources, timelines, deadlines, and quality, alongside risk, issue, and change management to ensure successful project implementation. The scope of responsibility is broad, involving the leadership, guidance, and mentoring of less experienced staff, as well as providing input and making budgetary recommendations regarding staffing and equipment. The position has a considerable impact on applying engineering principles to design and enhance new and existing systems. It involves documenting new system components or modifications to existing components and ensuring the security and integrity of system and product solutions, including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering, and Information Security principles and practices. The individual will perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs, conduct engineering technology research, and provide technical leadership in the architecture discipline and development of IT solutions. Clear, organized, and concise communication is essential to present information effectively to all audiences, enabling informed business decisions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
