This position involves a rotating schedule with travel required to project sites. The primary responsibilities include the safe operation and routine maintenance of the vessel’s power, propulsion, auxiliary, and other electro-mechanical and electronic systems. This must be done in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, company policies, and manufacturer recommendations, ensuring the safety of the crew. Under the supervision of a licensed officer, the role includes monitoring, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance, as well as responsible care and use of the vessel’s consumable spares and tools. General vessel maintenance and reporting to the Chief Engineer are also key responsibilities. The position requires creating work plans, executing daily tasks, maintaining inventory, assigning work to assistant engineering staff, and working as a deckhand as needed.
